Nicole Cavey
​Founder & CEO

Nicole resides with her husband, Craig, in the foothills of Denver, Colorado. Together they raised three children, who live in Colorado. Nicole met her husband while attending Montana State University. It was there that they became young parents and started a family. While raising their children, Nicole owned multiple businesses coaching women in business and life. She volunteered at organizations caring for single pregnant and parenting mothers and was a board member for her local pregnancy resource center. Nicole took her experiences and passion over 30 years and created The Avi Project. ​

Jaclyn Martin
Executive Director of Outreach

Jaclyn is a Colorado native and currently lives in Northern Colorado with her husband, Brian, and two sons. It is her absolute joy to serve as the Executive Director of Outreach for The Avi Project. Jaclyn holds a Bachelor of Science and has been in the world of outreach and program development for over 8 years - building relationships, creating impactful programs, and connecting people to the resources they need to thrive. She is driven by a passion for advocating for women—especially those walking through unplanned pregnancies. She cares deeply about making sure women are supported, encouraged, and reminded that their dreams still matter, even in the midst of big life changes. In her work, Jaclyn’s all about heart, strategy, and creating space for people to feel seen and supported.

Alisha Martin
Director of Donor Relations

Alisha lives in South Denver with her husband, Brock, and three daughters. She is a registered nurse who worked in healthcare for 8 years but is taking a break from the front lines to pursue other passions, namely being a wife and mother and helping grow The Avi Project. Alisha is excited to be working with the Avi Project because of her desire to empower young women to recognize their choice to pursue their education and have their babies too. She is passionate about women's holistic health - physical, mental, emotional, and social - and believes the Avi Project can play a vital role in providing the resources for college women experiencing unplanned pregnancies to live healthy lives.

Sabrina Coleman
Director of Client Projects

Sabrina lives in Northern Colorado with her husband Tim and two daughters. Post grad, she spent a year working at an OBGYN clinic and 4 years as a missionary on college campuses. Both jobs prepared her to walk with college students who find themselves in unplanned pregnancies. Additionally, she was the first Empower Partner and has first-hand experience walking with pregnant college students. She is excited to support female volunteers who desire to do the same through the Avi Project so that pregnant college students feel invested in, empowered, supported and not alone.

Michelle Bartoszek
Sorority Life Coordinator

Michelle lives in West Greeley with her husband, Jaron. Michelle graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL with a Bachelor's in Environmental Science and Geography. She was the Social Chair for Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Service Sorority and a member of the Delta Chi Theta sorority.  Michelle is passionate about sisterhood and community and supporting women to pursue their dreams!

Arie Drummond
Sorority Life Coordinator

Arie resides in Boulder, Colorado, with her husband and daughter. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During her time in college, Arie was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and faced the challenge of an unexpected pregnancy. This experience profoundly shaped her perspective and inspired her deep commitment to supporting others in similar situations.
Her personal journey led her to join The Avi Project, where she empowers and supports college students navigating unexpected pregnancies.

Kathleen Widlund

Licensed Counseling Partner

Kathleen Widlund is a licensed professional counselor. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, and her MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of St.Thomas in St.Paul Minnesota. She is passionate about helping our clients identify and seek their purpose, uncover and overcome obstacles, and maximize joy in daily living. ​​

Lisa Wormer

Nutritional Therapy Partner

Lisa Wormer is a functional nutritional therapist. She will work with our clients to create the best diet and supplement plan for both her and the baby.  Together they will identify the healthy foods they love, and the level of cooking they desire, to create a daily menu they'll love to eat that will nourish her and the baby. ​

Melissa Clapp

Certified Trained Birth Doula

Melissa is a trained birth doula, currently certifying with DONA International. She has worked closely with college students throughout her career in Higher Education in Residence Life. Serving as a doula with the Avi Project is a sweet intersection of her passion for supporting college students and supporting individuals through pregnancy. As a birth doula, Melissa believes in equipping and empowering individuals throughout their pregnancy, labor, and in the first few weeks following birth.

Ryanne Hill

Certified Dietician Partner

Ryanne is a Colorado native who loves the outdoors and everything food! Growing up she could see the power that food has on the body. She knew she wanted to combine her passion for food and science with her desire to help others. Ryanne has a degrees in Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Bachelor of Science in Dietetics:, Master of Science in Nutrition and Physical Performance. 
She has professional experience in Division I collegiate athletics, recreational and strongman gyms, public schools and hospitals.

Rachel Flowers

Health & Wellness Partner

Rachel earned her MS in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2022 and is an ACSM-certified personal trainer. Rachel loves taking group fitness classes at her local gym, running with her babies, husband, and dog around Northern Colorado's beautiful trails, cooking dishes from different cuisines and feeding her (hungry) sourdough starter. 

Stephanie Devenny

Financial Education

Stephanie has 4 years of experience as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. She is currently a full-time mom of three and is excited to share simple yet effective ways to plan for their future with our clients.  She also served a mission on a college campus and has experience working with college students.
